Wred Fright
Singer/Songwriter/Clonebot
"An artificial intelligence is better than none at all," Wred Fright's creator is fond of saying. Formerly a soft drink vending machine, the singer/songwriter/clonebot Wred Fright was a prototype in a line of musical machine friends known as the GoGoBots. Although the line was a commercial failure, the former 'Bots were upgraded to Y2K compliance and allowed to go free into the human world as a reward for their years of friendly service. Now with his electric guitar plug-in, he serenades humans and machines on the internet, arguing that "Since the government and large corporations use the internet to spy on humans and investigate their data, it's only fair that they have some soothing entertainment to make the electronic probing less disturbing." Machines and robots have enjoyed the music of Wred Fright for years; now it's your turn to understand why toasters go wild when Wred Fright sings. And, if Wred Fright sounds all too human to you, that's probably only because you've become more machinelike.
