Redd_k
Redding, California

Hi...I'm Redd_k, a 22 year?old girly as of this writing, in no way normal, so I remain partially anonymous. Who cares? I live in Redding, CA where I was born, but am moving to Cookeville, TN. Had 12 years of parochial schooling and have an AA in business. I do intend to go on for the BA, but no hurry because I am already "positioned" as a partner in my best friend's on-going business as a consultant to cosmetics companies' marketing departments. My writing had always been private until I met MS-allthat who encouraged me to put some of it on the internet. I'm not really a poet, but have tried that too. Mostly I write opinionated pieces because I need the outlet, but how much of that deserves to be in the Hold I leave to MS's good judgment.

One of my quirks is a total fascination with Faerie, so I will submit pieces of that nature as well. I am half Irish and not only believe in the Faeries; I depend on them. My other half is Japanese, and they as a people are pretty weird too, believing in a netherworld of their own, so I am a complete and willing victim of the Little People. If you read my stuff, go ahead and put your tongue in your cheek, but I at least am serious about what I write. If you want to get back at me, try reddcalm@hotmail.com

• What do you do for a living?
At the moment I am still "kept." A student on a break before completing my last two years of college. But I am a sort of on-the-job-trainee learning my best friend's business so as to be a contributing partner. At present I am little more than a clerk, but am paid almost as if I were worth something. She is an independent consultant to a cosmetic firm's marketing department, at present retained by a single company who replaced five big companies and a few smaller ones. We research consumer trends and recommend promotional ploys. I was born and raised in Redding, CA, and am now in the throws of a move to Cookeville, TN. I will send a picture after we are settled and I can find things hastily packed.
• Who are your favorite artists?

Mostly classical artists who do not need to be "different" to me admired. This applies to visual, written and musical art. I don't consider most modern "art" to be art
• What influences you to write about/how you do?
Emotions mostly. I am far from being a talented writer, but Cait talked me into publishing some of my things on the net. She built a web site for me and also now encourages me to contribute to the Hold. I vent with opinion articles, and am surprised that Cait doesn't reject some. Also I like to fantasize about Faerie which seems a part of me. She, and a few who were kind enough to respond with their opinions of me, good and bad, also tend to egg me on. I am way out-classed in here, and blame Cait for my being here at all.
• Where do you see the underground writing scene in 25 years?
To answer that I have to admit I don't fully understand what it means. If avant-garde writing is considered underground when all it does is reflect protest and anger, then it seems it is not really underground at all. The only thing I can guess could send writing underground would be a police state replacing the loose system we now have. Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to have one or the other? I gather from social science and political science classes I took in high school and college, that what was underground came up, post WW II, when social ego resulted in people speaking out simply because they could. Like climbing the mountain because it is there. For example, people overuse the F word in speech and writing now because they can, not because it adds any value to what they say or write. It will be little different in 25 years I think.
• from cait - describe the smell of sex in 25 words or more…yaaa -
Hmmmmm... the smell of sex. To me it is the woman smell. The scent that exudes from a woman when she is aroused is unique. This is hard to put into words, Cait, but I will try. First there is the clean body smell of perspiration resulting from the physical exertion of sex, and the smell of hair that shouldn't be hidden with too much artificial scent. Then of course there is the scent of the leukorrhea, which heightens from arousal, known affectionately as panty puddling... hehe. Perhaps a tea smell before adding things like cream, sugar or lemon. Like a hybrid tea rose that has no "usual" rose scent, but is a pleasing musk-like odor that tantalizes. (Darn, Cait... you make me hot). I have to add that no doubt there is a male smell that pleases most women as well.
