Elijah enFieri
Chicago

Elijah enFieri aka: PainSt or AdamAnt around the web is a legal alien fromJupiter our sister planet, born on Orion and now makes Chicago his home. Anunwilling prophet of the androgynous God Abraxas and Pearl Picking Piper ofPiscis during his more or less lucid moments, Elijah used to dream of one daytaking part in a mass suicide with his fellow disciples around the world butafter extensive reprogramming he's again starting to recognize the importanceof post-holocaust survival.

A professional woman abuser in his younger days, now 43 he finds himselfworshipping at the vaginal mound passing idle hours offering relationshipcounseling with his simple "Dump him - Dump her" program and channelingvoices from beyond.

His poetry is an inside view of the demented ideas which threaten the veryfabric of our society.

• What do you do for a living?
Eat, breathe, defecate, and perspire
I recommend it to everyone
• Who are your favorite artists?

Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, van Gogh, de Vinci, ouijigirl
• What influences you to write about/how you do?
Some time ago I saw an out-take on TV from the Chuck Berry biography movie, which Keith Richards produced. I know it will be good if I ever actually get to see it. but anyway ... There's Chuck and Keith on stage practicing "Maybelline" or some such and Chuck's getting pretty pissed with Keith for not playing it right and Keith says: "If we play it like this it will sound like this on the soundtrack, you know." This didn't impress Chuck one bit. He says:
"If it sucks, it's because that is the way Chuck Berry played it."
- a truly defining moment in my life.
- and it was on tape - a paradox I struggle with every day going joyfully about the business of surviving with a modicum of comfort.

My other fantasy perversely also involves Chuck Berry. It was a story Bruce Springstein told on one of the music stations. Chuck comes to town to play with the house band and shows up with his guitar 5 minutes before the show. They're like "So, what are we going to play?"
Chuck says:
"We're going to play Chuck Berry songs"
and they went on stage

Oh ... write. hell I don't know. The angel comes and talks so fucking fast. I try to get down what I can. It doesn't always make sense, but what is sense anyway. Does it have to be intellectually pleasing to make you jump?I don't think so
(although its not precluded.)

The other writing I do that is somewhat platoesque in nature forming a dialogue between the narrator and narratee usually expounding on some masturbatory idea of self-importance in this here universe is about magick.
Nothing can be proven and conversely not much can be disproven. I use this to justify saying pretty much anything that pleases me.
Like Bob Dylan once said:
"If not for freedom of speech, I might be in the swamp."
So, thank god for that

Love is the answer.
Love influences everything I do,
every pulse of life spilling vitality across the heavens from its twitching writhing agonized sacrificial flesh impaled upon the scepter of justice.

Need I go on?

• Where do you see the underground writing scene in 25 years?
All things unassimilated will fester

25 years is generous

• from cait - what are your pets peeve and do you throw up or down – ?meaning…whatever this question meant to you the split second you read it..heh
You're strange, Cait. The question still means nothing and its been a long time

love you, PainSt

(Please don't correct my English or line breaks. I read it over. If it sucks,
its because ... )

I want to say to you guys that I appreciate you much. You are to the internet what Laurel and Hardy were to motion pictures - true pioneers. Thank you
