• What do you do for a living?
Currently I’m working in the dishroom of a federal prison. It’s lovely to fi-nal-ly meet someone (the feds) who recognize my true worth & value: made six bucks and change last month. They’re demanding a recount.
In “The World” I designed, produced, and sold t-shirts, had my own one-man (w/sometimes a significant udder helping out) business.
• Who are your favorite artists?
Um…cait collins, loveisarose, northwest pacific, native-american carvings sepik river masks & totems, anything Polynesian, African & primitive. Greek sculpture, Folsom points (lance & arrowhead), Egyptian art before they converted to Islam, the French cave paintings. Aussie aborigine art.
Just now I’m finding prison tattoos fascinating; especially those which tend to illustrate what’s meaningful in the inmate’s lives.
• What influences you to write about/how you do?
Prison.
The people I met in county (jail), how they coped w/the pressures of dealing w/the judicial system, how they felt about themselves, those they had hurt.
The outrageous sentences mandated by federal minimum-sentencing guidelines.
The tearing asunder of entire families who happen to use drugs recreationally & get caught up in a faceless system w/ no sources of redress.
Grrr. The Hispanics I meet here, doing 5-10 years for working at jobs Americans won’t do, trying to support their families.
I long for a steinbeck to document this current grapes of wrath situation.
• Where do you see the underground writing scene in 25 years?
I’ll be viewing it from about six feet under, no doubt. I fear we will be in a completely totalitarian state by then, so any unorthodox thought will have to be underground. And I would expect many of the authors to be in the American _________?(can’t read the damn word..f!haha)

peeves…rude, boorish people. Republicans, democrats, multi-national corporations, the plutocracy, rap music, prison food, 3-man cells, no internet access, no amber-colored sunglasses, inadequate libraries, etc. pornophobes.
Why throw up or down when ya can keep all that crap inside? Prison is filled w/ambulatory chernobyl’s.

a. out.
b. fluent in Spanish.
c. Competent in koine greek & Aramaic.
d. Able to read Hebrew w/a 2000 word vocabulary.
e. Plot outlines for a couple of novels.
f. A decent scholar of the new testament and the Hellenic, roman, middle-eastern cultures of c. 800 bc-350 ce.
g. Well-read in the major mythologies of the world.
h. Getting' laid.
